A Warm & Welcoming Environment at Heathfield House, Warrington

At Heathfield House, we strive to create a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment where every child, family member, staff member and visitor feels valued. We believe that children thrive when they feel safe, happy and supported, and we work hard to ensure our nursery truly feels like a home from home.

Individual Learning & Development

Every child is unique, which is why our curriculum is tailored to meet each child’s individual needs, interests and stage of development. Through a balance of structured activities and child-led learning, we provide engaging experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity and confidence.

We are committed to providing equal opportunities for every child, ensuring they can learn, develop and flourish at their own pace.

Celebrating Diversity

We encourage children to develop kindness, respect and understanding for others. Throughout the year, we celebrate a variety of cultural traditions and religious festivals, helping children appreciate different beliefs, backgrounds and ways of life while fostering an inclusive community.

Working in Partnership with Parents

We believe that parents and carers are an essential part of every child’s learning journey. By working closely together, we can provide the very best support for each child’s development. We hold regular parents’ evenings to discuss progress and celebrate achievements, and our open-door policy means you’re always welcome to speak with a member of our team whenever you have a question or would like an update.

Your Child’s Learning Journey

Upon joining you will be given a log in to “Famly”, our nursery management software where you can book additional sessions, view invoices, mark absences and much more. Throughout your child’s time with us, we create a personalised Learning Journey on Famly, filled with observations, photographs and milestones that celebrate their progress and achievements. When your child moves on to school, this Learning Journey is shared with their new setting to support a smooth transition. As well as providing valuable insight into your child’s development, it becomes a treasured keepsake, capturing the wonderful experiences, friendships and happy memories made during their time at nursery.

Early Years Foundation Stage

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the national framework that guides the care, learning and development of children from birth to the end of their Reception year (age five).

At Heathfield House, the EYFS underpins everything we do. From your child’s first day with us through to the end of their Reception year at primary school, it provides a clear framework to support their learning, development and wellbeing.

Supporting Every Child’s Development

Our experienced team regularly observes and assesses each child’s progress across all areas of the EYFS. These observations are recorded in your child’s secure online Learning Journey, which begins as soon as they join us.

Parents and carers can access their child’s Learning Journey at any time to see their achievements, milestones and special moments. We also encourage families to contribute their own observations and experiences from home, helping us build a complete picture of each child’s development.

Learning Through Children’s Interests

We carefully plan activities around each child’s individual interests, strengths and stage of development. By following children’s natural curiosity and favourite ways to play, we create engaging learning experiences that support their next steps while making learning enjoyable, meaningful and fun.
