With nearby parks, ponds and picturesque green spaces just a short walk away, Heathfield House is perfectly placed to inspire a love of nature from an early age.
Its peaceful semi-rural setting offers the best of both worlds—excellent access to local motorways and transport links, alongside beautifully landscaped surroundings that provide a calm, safe and enriching environment for children and families alike.
At Heathfield House, we care for children from 3 months to 5 years, creating a warm, welcoming environment where every child feels safe, valued and part of our family.
From their very first day through to the exciting transition to school, we support each child’s individual journey with a nurturing approach that builds confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning.
Our curriculum is carefully designed to meet the unique needs and interests of every child, with a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, exploration and play.
We believe some of the best learning happens outside. With access to beautiful gardens and green spaces, children enjoy daily opportunities to explore, discover and develop new skills through meaningful outdoor experiences
Founded on the belief that children thrive in an environment that feels like home, our nurseries are built around strong family values, exceptional care and a genuine passion for outdoor learning.
Heathfield House began as a small, 16-place nursery and has grown over the years to meet the increasing demand for high-quality childcare in Birchwood and the surrounding areas.
Natasha grew up surrounded by the nursery, helping out while still at secondary school before completing her BA (Hons) in Childhood Studies. Together, Lisa and Natasha went on to open a second nursery, Little Weavers Day Nursery, extending their family-focused approach to even more children and families.
Today, the next generation of the Kirkwood family can often be found at nursery too! Natasha’s daughters proudly take on the role of our youngest “Customer Experience Officers”, enthusiastically testing the activities, exploring the learning environments and, of course, sampling our delicious menus before giving their seal of approval to their friends in the Baby Room and Pre-School.
It’s just one of the many ways Heathfield House remains a genuine family nursery, where every child is cared for as if they were one of our own.
